MRI of right knee JOINT
Technique of examination :
• Sagittal T1, PD & T2 Wtis “plate 1- 3”.
• AxialT2 Wis “plate 4”.
• Coronal STIR & Meniscal window “Plate 5′
• No IV contrast was given .
MRI Findings:
o the posterior horn of the medical meniscus presented a triangular shaped area of intermediate signal intensity in t1 an PD WIs. it is not seen reaching to the articular surface or the menisco-capsular attachment.
o MCL is seen surrounded with high T2 and STIR peri-ligamentous fluid signal yet its Fibres are seen stretched with no evidence of retraction or complete tear .
o normal MRI appearence of the lateral meniscus, ACL, PCL, collateral and pateller retinacular ligments as will as the quadriceps and infra parellar tendons .
o mild intra articular joint effusion is noted.
o normal marrow signals of the examined bones and the overlying articular cartilages.
o intact peri-articular musculature with preserved intervening fat planes.
opinion :
• mucoid degeneration of the posterior horn of medical meniscus.
• grade i sprain of MCL.
• Mild knee joint effusion.
